Initial Training Course for Human Subjects' Research

CITI (Collaborative IRB Training Initiative) Course

CITI is a web-based ethics training course for those conducting research with human subjects.  All Principal Investigators, Co-Investigators and study personnel must complete CITI training with a minimum score of 90%.  The course may be re-taken as many times as necessary to obtain a 90% average overall. Investigators can re-enter the modules with their lowest score and re-take the associated quizzes to reach a score of 90%.

Starting January 1, 2009, the CITI course is the only accepted form of human subjects' research training. Initial and Continuing Review Applications will not be reviewed without proof of CITI completion. Completion records for Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators must be submitted with applications.  Completion records of study personnel should be maintained by the Principal Investigator and are subject to periodic inspection.
