Federal Wide Assurance (FWA #00000092)

In accordance with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), i.e., the Federal Policy 45 CFR 46, and the regulations of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 21 CFR 50, the IRB has the authority to review, approve, require modifications in, or disapprove all human subjects research activities that fall within its jurisdiction. The jurisdiction of the University IRB is defined by its Federal-wide Assurance document (FWA #00000092) with the DHHS and by Texas A&M University's institutional policies. Texas A&M University also has a Memorandum of Understanding with the Texas Engineering Extension Service, Texas Engineering Experiment Station, Texas Agricultural Extension Service, Texas Transportation Institute, and the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center to include oversight of these System components for IRB activities at the local level.
