Resubmission of Identical AUPs
On occasion a principal investigator will submit an AUP to IACUC that is identical to a recent (within six months), previously-submitted AUP, processing of the new AUP can be significantly facilitated.
On Page 1 of the current Animal Use Protocol (version 12/04), investigators are asked to respond to a question regarding replacement of AUPs. If you are submitting an AUP that is truly identical to a prior submission (e.g., to accompany the resubmission of a grant in which you have made changes which have not impacted the proposed animal use), then check "yes." If you are resubmitting an AUP for another reason (e.g., resubmission of a revised grant, expiration of a current AUP) and have made minor changes in animal use for the resubmission (e.g., minor changes in animal numbers, addition of new personnel, altered administration of a drug or anesthestic), then the AUP is not identical, you check "yes" and indicate the number of the preceding AUP. This will assist in IACUC review of the new AUP.
