Export Controls Training

A training session / presentation on the topic of Export Controls will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 9 a.m. at 201 Rudder Tower, Texas A&M University campus. Lunch will be provided.

This training is a joint venture of The Texas A&M University System, AgriLife Research, Health Science Center, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Research Foundation, and Texas Engineering Experiment Station. The presentation will be beneficial for both research administrative personnel and researchers.

The Export Controls presentation will discuss the following:

What is BIS?
What are the BIS export regulations (EAR)?
Who is subject to the EARs?
What are the license exceptions?
What is the fundamental research exemption?
What are the deemed export issues?
How does the EAR impact foreign students working on projects?
How does the EAR impact potential intellectual property?
How does the EAR impact computer and software technology?
How does the EAR impact research activities outside the US?
