Export Controls Training
A training session / presentation on the topic of Export Controls will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 9 a.m. at 201 Rudder Tower, Texas A&M University campus. Lunch will be provided.
This training is a joint venture of The Texas A&M University System, AgriLife Research, Health Science Center, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Research Foundation, and Texas Engineering Experiment Station. The presentation will be beneficial for both research administrative personnel and researchers.
The Export Controls presentation will discuss the following:
- What is BIS?
- What are the BIS export regulations (EAR)?
- Who is subject to the EARs?
- What are the license exceptions?
- What is the fundamental research exemption?
- What are the deemed export issues?
- How does the EAR impact foreign students working on projects?
- How does the EAR impact potential intellectual property?
- How does the EAR impact computer and software technology?
- How does the EAR impact research activities outside the US?
